Vibrant and colourful Havana, green and charming Viñales, Cienfuegos: "The pearl of the south", picturesque and musical Trinidad, the colonial town Camagüey, Santiago de Cuba: the capital of the east, tropical beauty in Baracoa, traditional and gracious Remedios, Santa Clara: the city of Che Guevara, and Varadero with its beautiful and famous bounty beaches.
In 24 days you make a round trip from the west to the east of Cuba and back. You start this trip in Havana or Varadero and will cover a total of 2660 kilometres. Especially for nature lovers this is a lovely round trip, as you will explore both the beautiful green environment of Viñales in the west and the jungle of Baracoa in the eastern part of the island. You will go on a walk through La Habana Vieja in Havana, visit the famous Cuban tobacco fields in Viñales, go on a local bicitaxi tour in Trinidad, and in Baracoa you will cross the jungle and climb the only table mountain in Cuba. Really lovely is the small-scale stay in casas particulares, through which you get a real taste of local culture. This is an active holiday with many cultural and nature activities. At the end of the trip you get to relax at the beautiful Varadero beach and recover from all the great experiences you have had.

Day 1 - Havana Vieja or Vedado
After arriving at Havana or Varadero airport you will travel straight to your casa particular in Havana. Here you can settle in and really start enjoying your holiday!
Day 2 - Havana Vieja of Vedado - Underground bike tour
After the Meet&Greet you will explore the backstreets of Havana with the underground bike tour. Havana has many hidden spots and your guide will take you on a refreshing journey through this amazing city.
Day 3 – Havana Vieja of Vedado - Salsa workshop
It is time to get your feet off the ground during this exciting salsa workshop! Enjoy every step, movement and beat of the lovely Cuban salsa music. The rest of the day you can explore Havana at your own leisure.
Day 4 - Viñales
Early in the morning you travel to the Cuban countryside. At the casa you will receive a warm welcome with a cocktail. Enjoy the beautiful green surroundings!
Day 5 - Viñales – Tobacco walking tour
In the morning you will visit a local tobacco farm with an English-speaking guide. Here you will walk around the farm and learn all about the tobacco process, surrounded by the enchanting landscape of Viñales.
Day 6 - Viñales
You can enjoy nice walks through Viñales, rent a bike at your casa or visit the caves in the area. You can also visit Cayo Levisa, a lovely bounty island that is just perfect to enjoy the peace and quiet, or to dive or snorkel.
Day 7 – Soroa - Huellas de la Historia
Soroa is a small town with lush nature. The excursion will take you through the Sierra del Rosario bioreserve, wherethe guide tells you everything about the French coffee settlers. Be sure to also visit the Salto de Soroa waterfall!
Day 8 - Cienfuegos
From Soroa you travel on to charming Cienfuegos. Your casa particular is located at the bay of Punta Gorda or in the city centre. Enjoy the beautiful view and explore this French colonial city at your leisure.
Day 9 – Trinidad - Cocktail workshop
On the way you can visit the waterfalls of El Nicho. In the afternoon you will enter lively Trinidad. Enjoy everything that happens around you. Learn how to make the most delicious Cuban cocktails during the cocktail workshop.
Day 10 - Trinidad - Local bicitour - pottery workshop
In the morning your bicitaxi will be ready to show you the most interesting spots in the outskirts of Trinidad, with a real trinitario. Afterwards you will enjoy the pottery workshop with a well-known ceramics artist from Trinidad.
Day 11 – Trinidad – Valle de los Ingenios - photography workshop
Together with the guide, and in an oldtimer, you will visit the former sugarcane plantations located in the Valle de los Ingenios. Later that day you will set out with a local photographer to capture the hidden gems of Trinidad.
Day 12 - Camagüey
Camagüey does not have an orderly chequerboard street pattern but is very chaotic and confusing. It really is a maze with beautiful narrow streets, that are characterised by typical cobblestones and many picturesque plazas.
Santiago de Cuba
Day 13 - Santiago de Cuba
Santiago de Cuba is a vibrant city full of history, culture and parties. The city is a true stronghold of Afro-Cuban culture. Stroll along the El Tivolí neighbourhood, one of the most picturesque areas of Santiago de Cuba.
Day 14 – Santiago de Cuba - Salsa workshop
Enjoy the music during the salsa workshop and show off your incredible salsa moves. You will have the rest of the day to recover from this salsa class and to enjoy a delicious home-cooked dinner outside on the patio of your own casa.
Day 15 - Baracoa
Baracoa has the most beautiful estuary in Cuba, a beautiful green-blue sea, and an abundance of coconut trees, cocoa and banana plants. Enjoy this green environment and explore the colonial city centre in the afternoon.
Day 16 – Baracoa - Adventure jeep tour
Today you will travel through the natural environment of Baracoa. This excursion shows you the beauties of the Toa river and Maguana beach. You will learn everything about the nature, traditions and history of Baracoa.
Day 17 - Baracoa
On this day you might also like to visit the Alexander Van Humboldt natural park, which is part of the Unesco World Heritage List.
Santiago de Cuba
Day 18 – Santiago de Cuba
A second visit to Santiago de Cuba. Perfect for the rum museum and another stroll through the lively neighbourhoods of Santiago de Cuba. This city never gets boring!
Day 19 - Camagüey
On this day you are back in Camagüey. Explore everything you haven't yet seen in this beautiful colonial city.
Day 20 – via Sancti Spíritus to Remedios
Sancti Spíritus is the perfect destination to immerse yourself into the everyday Cuban life, and thus a nice stop on the way! Continue your journey to Remedios and enjoy the quiet charm that this town has managed to preserve.
Cayo Santa María
Day 21 – Remedios - Cayo Santa Maria tour
Today you will enjoy a beautiful day of beach fun. It takes about an hour to drive on the pedraplén: a road that takes you across the water and past several cayos of the Sabana archipelago.
Day 22 – via Santa Clara to Varadero
On the way from you can make a stop in Santa Clara: the city of Che Guevara, where you can visit his monument. After this stop you will continue travelling to Varadero, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset on the beach.
Day 23 - Varadero
Beautiful spacious beaches, palm trees and crystal-clear seawater. Relax and enjoy a cocktail on one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Or try one of the water sports! We can also book you a beautiful all-inclusive resort here.
Day 24 - Return
Unfortunately, the journey has come to an end… but on the bright side: you will go home with a suitcase filled with beautiful memories.
